CASE STUDY : ENABLING HYBRID CLOUD FOR MISSION-CRITICAL HEALTHCARE APPLICATIONS
Client: Vanderbilt University Medical Center
Summary: United States; Data Center
Newmark Services: Data Center Leasing and Advisory
SITUATION
Vanderbilt University Medical Center was modernizing its IT infrastructure as it transitioned its EPIC electronic health record (EHR) platform from an on-premise environment to a hybrid cloud architecture.
This required a deployment capable of supporting mission-critical clinical workloads with high availability, while enabling secure, low-latency connectivity between legacy systems and public cloud platforms.
SOLUTION
Worked with Vanderbilt’s infrastructure team to evaluate and deploy into a colocation facility capable of supporting a hybrid topology.
The selected environment provided redundant power, carrier-dense connectivity, and direct access to cloud platforms, enabling seamless integration between on-premise systems and cloud services.
RESULTS
- Enabled Vanderbilt to transition its EPIC platform to a hybrid cloud architecture while maintaining reliability for mission-critical clinical workloads
- Deployed infrastructure within a purpose-built data center environment designed for high availability and healthcare-grade uptime requirements
- Provided direct connectivity to public cloud platforms, enabling integration between colocation infrastructure and cloud services
- Established scalable infrastructure capacity to support future clinical systems, analytics platforms, and digital health initiatives
